My R2-D2 Collection Including Lego Star Wars R2-D2 UCS (10225)

I think I've never done a photo shoot for my R2-D2 UCS set (10225). It was a gift from my wife before this set retired. The structure inside the body was quite amazing. Most of the building time was spent in the inner body structure. The way Lego designer was quite complicated. Surely, consumer would learn a lot from the process.

Although you can't buy this set with a reasonable price now, you can buy the Chinese knockoff versions (Lepin and LeLe) from Aliexpress.

Star Wars Y-Wing UCS (Lepin Version)

It's a pretty nice model. Lepin version comes with some grey tubes for the 8 engine sticks. I don't put them on and let the white technic bars show. Then it is better than with wrong color.

The Recent X-Wing Models from Lego

Chatting with Dennis, the web radio show's host, about Lego X-Wings recently. He asked me if I could show him what I had. Then, I found my UCS version in garage. At the same time, he made me considering to build the blue X-Wing.

The recent models of X-Wing are really way better than before. From shape to structure, the improvement is obvious. You may find a lot of places to modify the 9493 original trilogy X-Wing but the two X-Wings from The Force Awakens are almost perfect. Maybe, you can update the engine a little bit and cover the grey parts with black tiles.

Super Star Destroyer

Before Lego's Super Star Destroyer retired, I considered to get it for too long. When I decided to get it from Lego store, a staff told me that I was late for 14 days... Retired forever :-(

Then, I went to eBay at once and the price went up to $800 already (OMG). Then, I gave up.

I finally got a Super Star Destroyer now. It was from the evil Lepin (Knock off brand). No missing brick and no major problem. Just no numbered bags as usual. It took longer time to build.

Everyone is waiting for LEGO Star Wars UCS Assault on Hoth UCS 75098? (Updated)

I didn't know why it showed in my Facebook Page's related link box. I guess LEGO ordered Brick Show TV deleted the page about it. I missed that post totally (I had work to do).

I don't want to get warning letter from LEGO. You will see high-res box art from this link:
http://www.fbtb.net/2016/02/12/hoth-base-assault-box-pictures-surface/

The box shows this UCS set will have the Hoth's shield generator (on the left), the snow beast, Han Solo on a Tauntaun, Luke, and one Snowspeeder. I'm a little bit regret... I didn't get more AT-AT walkers when it was on sale...

Updated after LEGO press release:
This set is CAD300 as the press release. If it was $250, then I would consider. Now... Mm... Maybe not. It's a "recycled" set from other small sets in the previous seasons. In my opinion, $250 is a much fair trade for a UCS. I can see a lot of fans complained about too much play feature in this UCS. I totally agree that. UCS sets are made for display and it should have extremely high details. Although the latest Death Star UCS has lots of play features, it showcases lots of classic scenes in the original trilogy. It is great for collecting it.
