Removing Stud Shooters on TIE Fighters

All recent Lego TIE Fighters' front cannons are build like the same way... two stud shooters. If you follow this blog, you should know I don't like shooters. I remove them at once or wait until I have time. You may keep it in red or make it more like in movies.. grey color.

LEGO Star Wars: The Recent Imperial TIE Fighter models

I can't wait to get the TIE Bomber in Summer 2018. I guess we have to use the recent TIE Fighter to modify as TIE Interceptor.

P.S. I forgot to put the TIE Striker together. Maybe next time.

LEGO Star Wars: Han Solo - TIE Fighter

The new TIE Fighter is like a small UCS version. I think it's much better than the First Order version from The Force Awakens.

Lego Star Wars TIE Silencer Modification 1: Lego Designers Hate Kylo Ren

Let's jump to the conclusion :-) I think Lego designers hate Kylo Ren so much. If not, they wouldn't build Ren's Shuttle and TIE Silencer badly. Yes, two times already.

Actual, Silencer's windshield part should be like the photo below. Lego's model was like a flat 2 x 4 red window. The original design was quite streamline. I believe there are lots of ways to fix the problem. I just changed it with a quick fix. At least, it looks much better from top view.

My quick fix. I may come back to rebuild it later.

Now, the top view is better

I think Lego's designers just hate working on Kylo Ren's vehicles.

Last time in The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren's shuttle was badly built at the front and the color was totally wrong (It should be black. Not dark grey). The wings were fixed. From the bright side, you might say... Lego designers gave consumers a chance to have fun on modification.

My little quick fix for the shuttle

I fixed the front and wings but I gave up on changing the whole thing into black.

LEGO Star Wars TIE Advanced Prototype Modification

TIE Advanced Prototype is one of the toughest model for Lego to build. The reason is the curved wings design. I haven't watched Rebels Season 3 yet. I think it won't have much airtime in the future when all Inquisitors are killed by Darth Mual at the end of Season 2. To make the wings look curved, Lego should have another joint at the tips of the wings. I think "Lego standard" doesn't allow that. So, I made a simple modification during my break time. Not perfect but it looks a bit better.

LEGO Star Wars: TIE Striker (75154)

Lego improved a lot in making TIE Fighters in the recent 3 years. The TIE Striker (75154) has the obvious improvement in making the round vehicle with bricks. The size of the set is unexpectedly big. However, it didn't have the play feature for bomb dropping part (See the design in the book of Rogue One Ultimate Guide). I don't find problem with this set, so no modification needed. Two thumbs up!

LEGO Darth Vader's Advance TIE Fighter from the set 75150

I've been waiting for Vader's TIE a long time. It looks nice but I think the size of the wings are a bit smaller and closer to the body. What do you think?
